Art Rookie

What is Art Rookie?

Art Rookie is a unique online sales platform for UK artists and designers, supporting British creatives on their road to commercial success!

What does the artist have to do?

The artist simply uploads and posts their artwork onto a variety of products provided, and we do the rest! Each artist has their own shopfront to promote, as well as being a part of the whole site, and gains a cut of each item they sell. They design and create. We produce, package and post!

This is a start-up business opportunity without any of the usual costs, and with everything to gain. We are all about developing British artistic talent. We have a ‘strength in numbers’ mentality - just by association, people can discover lots of other original talent at the click of a button, spreading the creative love!

What if I’m not an artist?

We also provide an instant product personalisation service. This is an express section for anyone to use. Here you may create your own personalised products for instant purchase.

Where is everything made?

Every product is made here in the UK, and only printed after it is ordered so it is 100% custom-made for each and every customer. Quality is vital to the team at Art Rookie and we only work with the best technology experts around. We are constantly updating our product ranges and always developing the site to benefit our customers.

Who thought of this?

Art Rookie has been created by Liz Bush and Jodie Prince, young artist and designers themselves, aware of the initial struggles of an art graduate. They have a vision to inspire, be inspired and share new and unknown British talent with the world. Take home a piece of something unique.

Meet Liz and Jodie!

Liz Bush and Jodie Prince are two friends who had the vision of creating an easy and accessible platform for likeminded artists and designers to profit from. Whether it’s at the beginning of their career, a part time passion or an extra element to a thriving profession.

Liz is a former 1st Class Chelsea College of Art and Design graduate. She began her career as a freelance designer, selling hand-painted silk prints to international fashion houses and high-street suppliers before following her dream of starting her own label ‘Elizabeth Kate’ in 2011, and later opening a shop in London’s West-end. Through Elizabeth Kate she has gained a greater knowledge of the design industry and the challenges you face whether it be business costs, promotional struggles or general responsibilities, which helped spark the idea with the help of Jodie for Art Rookie.

Jodie’s background is in the world of fashion and photography. Graduating from Middlesex University with a BA Hons in Photography, her final degree work was featured on the front cover of the Sunday Times Spectrum Magazine. Through her creativity in photography she discovered her natural talent in styling. Jodie’s skills led her to style for Burberry, Sony Music, Syco along with other freelance styling and editorial roles. In 2011 she styled on the X-Factor live shows, leading her to style the eventual winners, Little Mix and the X-Factor Live Tour. However, being behind the camera is her true love and enabling others to gain a platform and be noticed is what Jodie aims to achieve through Art Rookie.

Together with their versatile skills they hope to discover, expose and endorse Britain’s hub of thriving creative talent!
